What it does

Catalog and events, at a glance

  • Any niche, your fields

Heavy equipment, ice makers or printers: you approve the categories and the spec fields FoxKnock fills in.

  • Sourced or empty

Each spec carries the page and the quote it came from. A value with no source stays blank, never guessed.

  • Manufacturer first

Specs come from the brand's own product pages and brochures. Other sites only back them up.

  • Events kept current

Trade shows for the year ahead, re-checked daily in the 60 days before they start, so a postponement shows up.

  • Every company is a lead

Send any brand, dealer or exhibitor to Discover, then research and email them like any other account.

  • Your edits stick

Correct a value and it is locked. Later refreshes never overwrite what you changed.

How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Describe your niche

A sentence or two. FoxKnock proposes categories and spec fields, and you edit and approve them first.

  2. 2

    FoxKnock researches it

It finds the brands, reads their product pages and fills each field with its source and quote.

  3. 3

    Every value is checked

A value is published only when its quote is found on the cited page. The rest stay marked unverified.

  4. 4

    Put it to work

Compare models, plan which shows to attend, export the catalog, or turn its companies into leads.

Honest limits

What it does not do

Knowing where a tool stops is part of choosing it.

  • It reads public web pages only. A brand with few product pages online gets a thin record.
  • A source shows where a value came from, not that the manufacturer got it right. Check the page before you publish a spec.
  • It lists the companies at an event, never the names of attendees or speakers.
  • Images and brochures are linked, not copied, so a page the manufacturer removes breaks its link.
  • A catalog of hundreds of models is built in the background over a while, not in seconds.

In depth

Catalog and events: the full guide

Catalog research turns a niche into structured, sourced data. You describe what you sell into, for example piling rigs, commercial ice makers or office printers, and FoxKnock finds the brands that make them, their dealers, each model with the specs buyers compare, and the trade shows where the industry meets.

Every value in the catalog carries the page it came from and the quote that supports it. A field FoxKnock cannot source stays empty instead of being guessed. And because a brand, a dealer and an exhibitor are all companies, any of them can become a lead in one click.

What a niche catalog is

A niche catalog is the map of an industry: who makes the products, who sells and services them, what each model can do, and where everyone meets. Directories and marketplaces need it as content. Sales teams selling into the niche need it as an account list. Most teams build it by hand in a spreadsheet, and it falls out of date within months.

FoxKnock builds it per workspace. Your categories, your spec fields, your records and your edits belong to your workspace and are never shown to another customer.

How every spec stays honest

Three rules keep the data trustworthy:

  • Sourced or empty. Every published value has a source URL and the quote it came from. If FoxKnock cannot find a source, the field stays empty. It never fills a spec from memory.
  • Checked against the page. A value is published only when its quote is found on the cited page and the value appears in that quote. Anything that fails the check is kept but marked unverified, so you can see it and decide.
  • The manufacturer first. Specs come from the brand's own product pages and brochures. Third-party spec sites are used only to back a value up, never copied in bulk.

When you correct a value yourself, the field is locked and the card shows your edit instead of a citation it no longer matches. A later refresh fills gaps around it but never overwrites it.

Models, variants and regional names

Many products are one model in several configurations or under different names in different countries. FoxKnock keeps those as one family: a base model with its variants, each holding only the specs that differ. A model whose product page disappears is flagged for you to review as possibly discontinued.

Trade shows and events

FoxKnock finds the trade shows, expos and conferences for your niche over the next twelve months by default. An event's dates are marked confirmed only when the event's own website states them. Upcoming events are re-checked every day from 60 days before they start, so a postponed or cancelled show is flagged before you book travel, and those re-checks are free.

Where an event publishes its exhibitor or sponsor list, FoxKnock reads the companies on it, with their booths. It never collects the names of attendees or speakers.

From catalog to leads

A brand is a company, its dealers are companies, and an event's exhibitors are companies. Any of them can go to Discover as a lead, with its fit against your customer profile and the catalog record as the reason. From there it works like every other account: AI prospect research with cited sources, verified contacts, and emails you approve before they send.

Two buying signals come from the catalog as well: a new model from a brand you follow, and a company you know exhibiting at a show 30 to 60 days away, which is a natural reason to get in touch.

What it costs

Catalog research uses the same credits as everything else in FoxKnock. Each brand, model and event has a price per record, shown before you start a run, and a record is charged only when it is verified. A large run gets an estimate first and stops cleanly at your monthly spend cap. See the pricing page for current prices.

Frequently asked questions

Which niches does catalog research work for?

Any niche with products that have makers, sellers and specs, from heavy equipment and commercial ice makers to office printers and dental chairs. You describe the niche, FoxKnock proposes the categories and the spec fields buyers compare on, and you approve or edit them before any paid research runs.

Where do the specs come from?

From the manufacturer's own product pages and brochures first. Other spec sites are only used to back a value up. Every published value shows its source page and the quote it came from, and a value FoxKnock cannot source stays empty instead of being guessed.

Do I pay for records FoxKnock cannot verify?

No. Each brand, model and event is charged only when it is verified against its source pages. A record that cannot be verified costs nothing, and the price per record is shown before a run starts.

Can other customers see my catalog?

No. Your categories, fields, records and edits belong to your workspace and are never shown to another customer.

Can I export the catalog or feed it into my own site?

Yes. You can export a niche with its sources to CSV, JSON or Excel, and on plans with API access read it through the REST API and get webhooks when a model is added or an event changes. See API and integrations.
