Alternatives to HeyCatch

HeyCatch alternatives for B2B founders: 8 tools compared by job

The right HeyCatch alternative depends on the job: F5Bot, Syften, KWatch.io and Octolens alert you when someone asks for what you sell on Reddit and other communities, while FoxKnock, Explee and Apollo help you reach named companies by email.

HeyCatch calls itself an AI marketing co-founder for solo founders. Its homepage says it finds conversations on Reddit, X, LinkedIn and Facebook groups every day, drafts replies and posts, and you review and click publish. Its FAQ says it is built for bootstrapping builders, not for funded growth teams, agencies or enterprise marketing departments.

This page is for B2B founders and small teams who tried HeyCatch, or are weighing it, and want a lighter or cheaper way to watch communities, or a way to reach named companies. If you meant HeyReach, that is a different product (a LinkedIn outreach tool) and it is not covered here.

We sorted eight tools by job: community alerts (F5Bot, Syften, KWatch.io, Octolens), outbound to named companies (FoxKnock, Explee, Apollo) and one enterprise option (Common Room). Prices come from each vendor's own pages, read on 2026-10-17. We left out GummySearch because it no longer takes new customers. We make FoxKnock, so it is listed first because it is ours, not because it fits every job. We compared public pages only and did not run the other tools.

Facts checked from public sources listed at the end. Tools change often, so check before you decide. Written by the FoxKnock team, so read it knowing who wrote it.

Why people look for an alternative to HeyCatch

  • The price steps up after the intro. HeyCatch's first period costs $19.95 (2 weeks), $29.95 (4 weeks) or $49.95 (8 weeks). It then renews at $79.95 every 4 weeks, or $159.90 every 8 weeks on the 8-week plan. Its terms say there is no free tier.
  • Refunds depend on whether work ran. Its refund policy, which applies to payments from October 12, 2026, treats a billing period as earned once any work ran, automated work included, even if you never logged in. A period in which nothing ran is refunded on request within 120 days, as is the unused second half of an 8-week plan.
  • Its pages describe conversations, not named companies with work emails. We found no company or contact lookup on its public pages, and its FAQ lists email and customer discovery among the areas it covers without describing a contact search or outbound to named companies. We have not tested the product, so check before you rely on that.
  • It does more than listen. Its homepage lists daily distribution, viral content, analytics, audience research and a roadmap, and its refund policy adds video generation and scheduled posts. If you only want an alert when someone mentions a keyword, the entry plans of F5Bot, KWatch.io and Syften cost less than its standard $79.95 every 4 weeks. Octolens costs more.
  • Trustpilot reviews split between praise and complaints. Trustpilot (third party) shows 3.7 from 41 reviews as of 2026-10-17, with 66% five-star and 27% one-star. Some reviewers praise the site audit and generated content. Others describe a long setup, manual steps and refund disputes, and one describes a surprise $79.95 charge that HeyCatch's public reply says it refunded. We have not verified individual reviews.
  • It is aimed at a different buyer. Its FAQ says it is built for bootstrapping builders going from zero to their first 100 paying users with SaaS and consumer apps, and not for funded growth teams, agencies or enterprise marketing departments.
  • Availability. Its refund policy says it does not offer or target its services in the EEA or the United Kingdom, so founders based there should check before buying.

Each alternative in detail

  1. 1.FoxKnock

    Try it free →

Best for: B2B founders and small teams who want named companies, work emails with a verification status and cited outreach they approve, with community threads as one signal among several.

Pricing: Free: $0, no card, 500 one-time credits (granted once you verify your email). Starter $49 a month (5,000 credits), Growth $149 (20,000), Agency $399 (60,000), as of Oct 2026. Monthly, no contract, credits roll over and failed lookups are free. Community radar is listed from Starter, and at default prices a thread with a drafted reply costs 25 credits (1 credit = $0.01 at list price). Credit prices can change, so see the pricing page.

    Strengths

    • Finds named companies four ways (describe the buyer, lookalikes of your best customers, local businesses, people at companies you pick) and charges only for results you accept
    • Research reports cite their sources: each fact shows a source URL, a quote and a date. An AI claim check flags claims in AI-written emails that no fact supports and blocks the draft until you fix them
    • Every email waits for your approval by default and sends from your own mailbox. Automatic sending is opt-in and has to be earned
    • Community radar scores Reddit and Hacker News threads (X needs a Monid key) and drafts replies that you post yourself. FoxKnock never posts for you

    Trade-offs

    • New: launched October 2026, so no customer results yet
    • No built-in contact database: companies and people come from web search and third-party data providers
    • Community coverage is narrower than HeyCatch or Octolens: no LinkedIn or Facebook groups, and you post replies by hand
    • Not an all-in-one marketing assistant: no video or SEO-article creation

    Trade-offs

    Strengths

    • Pro covers social and community platforms including Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Hacker News and GitHub. Podcasts, news, web and newsletters are added at Scale

    • API, webhooks and an MCP server on every plan, with unlimited seats

    Trade-offs

    • $159 a month billed annually ($199 billed monthly) is the highest entry price among the listening tools on this page

    • Extra keywords cost $10 each on Pro, and mentions above 15,000 are billed at $0.013 each
    • Alerts only: no company research, contact data or outreach
  6. 6.Explee

    Website

Best for: Founders who want cold email without setting up mailboxes or domains: paste a URL, and it finds contacts and sends from its own inboxes.

Pricing: Pay as you go with no subscription: about $0.04 per email sent, per its FAQ, as of Oct 2026. Adding a card grants $30 in starter credits (shown as 750 emails). Building the lead list is free.

    • Email outbound only as its pages describe it: no community listening
    • Spend is capped by a daily budget you set, so read how the cap works before you launch

Which HeyCatch alternative fits your job

Start with the job. HeyCatch bundles several jobs, and each alternative covers one or two of them.

  • You only want an alert when someone asks for what you sell. Start with F5Bot (Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters; the free plan is labelled personal use only, and paid plans start at $9.99 a month). Move to Syften if you want more sources, AI filtering of noisy matches and webhooks. Both send alerts, and you write the reply yourself.
  • You also want LinkedIn, Facebook or YouTube mentions. KWatch.io covers them on paid plans from $19 a month. Octolens covers LinkedIn, X, Reddit and GitHub, among other platforms, from $159 a month billed annually.
  • You know the kind of company you want and need a named contact. Alert tools show you a thread, not a person with a work email. Apollo gives you a large database and a sequencer. Explee runs cold email from its own inboxes at about $0.04 per email. FoxKnock researches the companies you pick with sources, drafts email that waits for your approval and sends it from your own mailbox. Compare them in FoxKnock vs Apollo and FoxKnock vs Explee.
  • You want one tool for both. FoxKnock's community radar scores Reddit and Hacker News threads (X needs a Monid key) and drafts replies you post by hand, in the same queue as company signals. It is listed from the Starter plan, it is narrower than Octolens or KWatch.io, and FoxKnock is new.
  • You run a revenue team with RevOps support and budget. Common Room is built for that, at a much higher price.

A thread is a signal, not a lead. If you need both jobs done, you can pair a listening tool with an outbound tool.

HeyCatch alternatives pricing compared

Headline prices mislead because each tool charges for a different thing. HeyCatch bills by time, every 4 or 8 weeks. Most alert tools bill by keywords or filters each month. Explee bills per email sent. Apollo bills per seat, with credits that reset each cycle. FoxKnock bills credits for results, and they roll over.

ToolYou pay forEntry price (as of Oct 2026)
HeyCatchA billing period$19.95 for a 2-week intro, or $29.95 for the first 4 weeks, then $79.95 every 4 weeks
F5BotKeywordsFree (personal use only, 5 keywords); Silver $9.99 a month
SyftenSearch filtersEntry $29.95 a month
KWatch.ioKeyword alerts by sourceFree; Essential $19 a month
OctolensKeywords and mentionsPro $159 a month, billed annually ($199 monthly)
FoxKnockCredits per resultFree (500 one-time credits); Starter $49 a month
ExpleeEmails sentAbout $0.04 per email, no subscription
ApolloSeats and creditsFree; Basic $49 per seat a month, billed annually
Common RoomAn annual contract$2,500 a month, billed annually

At its standard $79.95 every 4 weeks, HeyCatch costs about $1,039 over 13 four-week periods (52 weeks). A Syften Entry plan at $29.95 a month costs about $359 a year, but it gives you alerts, not companies or contacts.

FoxKnock charges per result instead. At default credit prices (they can change, see pricing), accepting 40 discovery results at 15 credits each uses 600 credits, which is $6 at list price (1 credit = $0.01), before any research or email.

Reddit marketing tools for founders: noise, rules and sources

Alert tools find the thread. What you do next is the same whichever one you pick.

  • Test the noise. Syften gives a 14-day trial with no card, Octolens gives 7 days, and F5Bot and KWatch.io have free plans. An alert on a common word costs you time, so look for AI filtering or relevance scoring on the plan you would actually buy: F5Bot has it on Gold, Syften from Standard and Octolens on Pro.
  • Read the community rules. Reply as a person, say that you work on the product and follow each subreddit's rules. FoxKnock shows suggested limits in the app (one reply per author per week, about an hour between replies) and never posts for you.
  • Do not rely on one data source. GummySearch's founder wrote that it could not reach a commercial Reddit Data API agreement that fit Reddit's policies, and it is closing. Any tool that depends on Reddit data, FoxKnock included, depends on what Reddit allows.

AI marketing co-founder alternatives: what this page does not cover

HeyCatch also covers videos, content and funnel analytics, per its homepage and refund policy. None of the tools here, FoxKnock included, is a content engine: we found no video or SEO-article creation on their pricing pages.

If you want an all-in-one assistant that plans and drafts your marketing, compare other AI marketing co-founder products directly. We did not review them for this page. If you are undecided, see FoxKnock vs HeyCatch.

What to check before you switch from HeyCatch

  • Cancel on the right day. HeyCatch's refund policy says to cancel before the intro period ends if you do not want the standard price, and its terms say it emails a reminder before the first standard-price renewal. Cancelling stops renewals but does not by itself trigger a refund, and deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
  • Stop automated work. Under the refund policy, automated work counts even if you never log in. To stop it, cancel the scheduled queue, disconnect your accounts or remove its tracking code. Cancelling the subscription stops it when your paid access ends.
  • Check availability and law. HeyCatch's refund policy says it does not offer or target its services in the EEA or the United Kingdom. For outbound email to EU recipients, FoxKnock has built-in GDPR tools, but compliance stays your job. This is not legal advice.

Try FoxKnock with the free credits

If the part you need is named buyers, you can test it at no cost. FoxKnock's Free plan gives 500 one-time credits once you verify your email, with no card. Describe your buyer, accept a few of the companies it finds, and open one research report to check the sources yourself. By default every email waits for your approval.

Start with the free credits. FoxKnock does not replace HeyCatch's videos, articles or analytics, so weigh that when you decide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to HeyCatch for a B2B founder?

For watching Reddit and other communities, F5Bot, KWatch.io or Syften: their entry plans cost less than HeyCatch's standard $79.95 every 4 weeks. For reaching named companies by email, FoxKnock, Explee or Apollo. You can also pair one tool for each job.

Is there a free alternative to HeyCatch?

Yes, for parts of the job. HeyCatch has no free tier, and its cheapest way in is a paid 2-week intro at $19.95. F5Bot has a free plan for keyword alerts, labelled personal use only. KWatch.io has a free plan with 2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News alerts. Apollo has a free plan with no time limit, and FoxKnock's Free plan gives 500 one-time credits.

Which Reddit marketing tools can founders use instead of HeyCatch?

F5Bot, Syften, KWatch.io and Octolens all send alerts when your keywords appear on Reddit, at prices from free to $159 a month billed annually. FoxKnock's community radar scores Reddit and Hacker News threads and drafts a reply that you post by hand. Whichever you use, read each subreddit's rules and say that you work on the product.

Is HeyCatch the same as HeyReach?

No. HeyCatch is an AI marketing assistant for founders that finds conversations on Reddit, X, LinkedIn and Facebook groups. HeyReach, per its homepage, is a LinkedIn outreach tool. This page covers HeyCatch alternatives only.

Can you get a refund from HeyCatch?

Sometimes. Under its refund policy for payments from October 12, 2026, a billing period in which any work ran, automated work included, is generally not refunded. A period in which nothing ran is refunded on request within 120 days, and duplicate or unauthorized charges are refunded on verification. This summarizes its policy and is not legal advice.

Does HeyCatch work in Europe or the UK?

Its refund policy says HeyCatch does not offer or target its services in the EEA or the United Kingdom, and that it sells in the countries available at checkout. Check checkout before you pay. The policy also says it honors mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to your purchase. This is not legal advice.

Is GummySearch still an option?

Not for new customers. GummySearch's notice, dated November 6, 2025, says that from November 30, 2025 it serves paid customers only, with no new sign-ups or renewals, and its timeline lists December 1, 2026 as the day it shuts down and deletes all user data. See GummySearch alternatives for tools that are still taking customers.

Are there other AI marketing co-founder alternatives?

We did not review other all-in-one AI marketing products for this page, so we cannot say how they compare. This page covers the two jobs HeyCatch overlaps with most for B2B founders: finding conversations and reaching named companies. If you want videos, SEO articles and posting in one tool, compare those products directly. FoxKnock does not make videos or articles.
