Alternatives to GummySearch

GummySearch alternatives: 9 tools for Reddit alerts, leads and research

The best GummySearch alternative depends on what you used it for: keyword alerts (F5Bot, Syften, KWatch.io), ranked buyer threads (Subreddit Signals, FoxKnock), pain-point research (PainOnSocial) or audience research (SparkToro).

GummySearch's homepage says it "is closed as of 11/30/2025." Its November 30, 2025 notice says new sign-ups are closed and active subscribers keep access until their billing period ends, up to one year. Its November 6, 2025 timeline says the service shuts down entirely, and all user data is deleted, on December 1, 2026.

This list is for founders, small sales teams and agencies. It covers nine tools that are open today, with prices read from each vendor's own pages on October 17, 2026. We make FoxKnock, so it is listed first because it is ours, not because it fits every job. It finds buyer threads on Reddit and Hacker News and drafts replies you post yourself. It is not an audience-research tool or a GummySearch clone. We compared public pages only and did not run the other tools.

Facts checked from public sources listed at the end. Tools change often, so check before you decide. Written by the FoxKnock team, so read it knowing who wrote it.

Why people look for an alternative to GummySearch

  • Nothing new can be bought. GummySearch's notices say sign-ups, purchases and renewals ended on November 30, 2025. Active subscribers keep access until their billing period ends (up to one year, per the November 30 notice). That notice gives lifetime-deal holders until November 30, 2026, while the November 6 FAQ says through December 2026. The November 6 timeline puts the full shutdown, and deletion of all user data, on December 1, 2026.
  • Reddit's data rules are the stated cause. The founder wrote that GummySearch worked with Reddit to get a commercial license for its Data API but could not reach an agreement that fit Reddit's Data API policies, so it had to go non-commercial or close. The November 30 notice says it is shutting down to comply with Reddit's API policies.
  • It did several jobs, so replacements are split by job. GummySearch's homepage pitched it for ideating startups, validating demand, inspiring content and finding sales leads. Its own alternatives page groups its picks into cross-platform market research, pain point analysis, Reddit posting insights and scheduling, and Reddit lead generation, and says some of its links might be affiliate links.
  • The pricing models differ. GummySearch's pricing page, for plans no longer sold, lists Free (limited to 50 keyword searches), Starter $29, Pro $59 and Mega $199 a month. Replacements count keywords, filters, brands, scans, reports or mentions instead, so a like-for-like budget takes some arithmetic. The price table below helps.

Each alternative in detail

  1. 1.FoxKnock

    Try it free →

Best for: Small B2B teams and agencies that used GummySearch to find people asking for a tool like theirs, and want ranked threads and drafted replies they post by hand. Not for audience research.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: community radar is listed from Starter at $49/mo (5,000 credits a month). Free is $0 with 500 one-time credits and does not list community radar. At default credit prices (they may change), a thread with a drafted reply costs 25 credits ($0.25 at list price), and scanning and scoring threads use no credits. See the pricing page for current prices. Month to month, no contract.

    Strengths

    • Scores new Reddit and Hacker News threads from 0 to 100 for relevance and labels the intent (for example, asking for a recommendation). Threads under 40 are dropped, and threads scoring 75 or higher also become signals.
    • Threads with a drafted reply appear in a daily Today queue next to company signals.
    • Drafts replies in three styles (helpful, soft mention, direct), limited by the account stage you declare. FoxKnock never posts to any community: you edit and post from your own account.
    • Credits are spent per thread that gets a drafted reply, not per keyword, filter or report.
    • The same workspace can also research companies, find work emails and draft outreach that, by default, sends from your own mailbox only after you approve it.

    Trade-offs

    • New: launched October 2026, so there are no customer results or reviews to read yet.
    • Not an audience-research tool. It suggests keywords and subreddits from your playbook, but it has no trend views, community reports or pain-point analysis.
    • Community radar is listed from the $49/mo Starter plan, a higher entry price than F5Bot, KWatch.io, Syften, Subreddit Signals or PainOnSocial.
    • Reddit access is best effort. It reads Reddit's public search without an API key, and Reddit can limit that. Each scan searches only your first 4 keywords and first 5 subreddits, and it covers Reddit and Hacker News (X only with a Monid key you add).
  2. 2.Subreddit Signals

    Website

Best for: Founders and agencies that want a ranked feed of Reddit posts with buyer-intent classification and a reply builder, on subreddits they choose.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Starter $29/mo ($24/mo billed annually): 1 brand, up to 10 subreddits, 15 weekly lead tokens. Pro $59/mo ($49.17/mo billed annually): up to 5 brands, up to 25 subreddits, 25 weekly lead tokens, Pain Points Radar, Competitor Intelligence. 14-day free trial, card required.

    Strengths

    • Classifies conversations by buyer intent, from problem-aware to purchase-ready, and keeps them in an engagement queue.
    • Comment Builder and voice profiles help you draft replies in your own voice.
    • Pro adds Pain Points Radar and Competitor Intelligence.
    • Named on GummySearch's own list under Reddit lead generation.

    Trade-offs

    • Built around Reddit: its pricing page says it scans Reddit through the official API and lists no other community.
    • Starter watches up to 10 subreddits for one brand, and leads are metered by weekly lead tokens.
    • No permanent free plan, and the 14-day trial needs a card.
  3. 3.F5Bot

    Website

Best for: Cheap keyword email alerts on Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters, with a free plan for personal use.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Free is $0 (labelled personal use only: 5 keywords, 20 alerts a day, alerts up to 2 hours late). Silver $9.99/mo (20 keywords, up to 5 minutes). Gold $49.99/mo (200 keywords, RSS and JSON feeds, AI filtering, Slack and Discord). Platinum $214.99/mo (300 keywords, API and webhooks). Diamond from $500/mo.

    Strengths

    • A permanent free plan that needs no card.
    • Says it checks posts and comments on Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters every few minutes, and says it has run since 2017.
    • Silver at $9.99/mo is the cheapest paid plan on this list.
    • Gold adds AI filtering, where you describe in plain language what you want to see.

    Trade-offs

    • The free plan is labelled personal use only and delayed, so a business needs a paid plan.
    • Alerts only: its pages list no audience research or reply drafting, and AI filtering starts at Gold.
    • Gold's AI filtering includes the first $10 a month of token usage, then bills usage on top of the plan.
    • Per-keyword daily caps (10 on Free, 30 on Silver, 100 on Gold), so very common phrases can hit the cap.
  4. 4.Syften

    Website

Best for: Keyword alerts across Reddit, Hacker News and many other communities, for a team that does the reading and replying itself.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Entry $29.95/mo (3 community filters, 100 community results a day). Standard $49.95/mo (20 filters, AI filtering, Slack). PRO $119.95/mo (100 filters, webhooks, MCP). X monitoring (+$40/mo) and YouTube (+$20/mo) are paid add-ons on Standard and PRO. 14-day free trial, no card.

    Strengths

    • Covers Reddit, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, GitHub, Stack Exchange, Slack communities, podcasts and more, per its pricing page.
    • Says it has operated since 2019.
    • API access on every plan, Slack and AI filtering from Standard, webhooks and MCP on PRO.
    • A 14-day trial that needs no card.

    Trade-offs

    • Alerts and filters only: its pricing page lists no reply drafting, and its FAQ says it does not replace GummySearch's audience research and pain-point reports.
    • Daily community result caps: 100 on Entry, 200 on Standard, 500 on PRO.
    • Entry has just 3 community filters, so a broad keyword list pushes you to Standard.
  5. 5.KWatch.io

    Website

Best for: Keyword alerts across Reddit, Hacker News, LinkedIn, X, Facebook and YouTube, with a free plan to start.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Free is $0 (2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News keyword alerts). Essential $19/mo (20 Reddit and 20 Hacker News alerts, 2 each on X and YouTube, 1 each on LinkedIn and Facebook). Business $79/mo (100 Reddit and Hacker News alerts, plus API, webhooks, Slack and MCP). Enterprise $199/mo (500). Agency plan on request. No trial or annual price listed.

    Strengths

    • A free plan and a $19/mo entry plan.
    • Watches six platforms, and can track one Reddit or Hacker News post or comment and alert you to new replies in that conversation.
    • Says it monitors in real time. Alerts go by email, with Slack and webhook alerts from Business.

    Trade-offs

    • Its FAQ describes the AI analysis as sentiment about your keyword, and its pricing page lists no reply drafting.
    • LinkedIn, X, Facebook and YouTube sources need a paid plan, with small limits on Essential.
    • Limits are counted per platform, so a mixed watch list takes some planning.
  6. 6.PainOnSocial

    Website

Best for: Founders validating an idea who want ranked pain points, with quotes, from chosen subreddits.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Starter $19/mo (20 scans a month, up to 2 subreddits per scan, 1 weekly topic watch, 7-day free trial). Professional $49/mo (300 scans, up to 5 subreddits per scan, 5 weekly topic watches, startup idea reports with PDF export).

    Strengths

    • Ranks pain points with real quotes and links to the original Reddit posts.
    • Adds AI-generated solution ideas and lets you export results.
    • Named on GummySearch's own list under pain point analysis.
    • A $19/mo entry price with a 7-day free trial.

    Trade-offs

    • Research, not lead finding: its pricing page lists no buyer-intent queue or reply drafting.
    • Small scan limits: 20 scans a month and 2 subreddits per scan on Starter.
    • Focused on Reddit.
  7. 7.SparkToro

    Website

Best for: Audience research across the web (websites, podcasts, YouTube, social accounts, search terms), with subreddits as one data type.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Free (3 previews a month, preview data only). Personal $38/mo billed $450 yearly (annual only, 4 reports a month). Business $150/mo billed monthly, or $112/mo billed yearly (25 reports, 10 users). Agency $300/mo billed monthly, or $225/mo billed yearly (250 reports, 100 users). Cancel any time.

    Strengths

    • Builds an audience report from a plain sentence, with demographics, social accounts, websites, podcasts and more.
    • Its Reddit section lists subreddits where your audience asks questions.
    • An MCP server, free with any paid plan, connects SparkToro to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients.

    Trade-offs

    • Reports, not monitoring: its pricing page lists reports a month, not alerts on new threads.
    • Its Reddit section is described as subreddits, and the page lists no individual threads or comments.
    • Free is previews only, and the Personal plan is annual-only.
  8. 8.Octolens

    Website

Best for: B2B SaaS teams that want AI-scored mentions from Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn and more, sent to Slack or webhooks.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Pro $159/mo billed annually, or $199/mo billed monthly (10 keywords, 15,000 mentions, hourly refresh). Scale $499/mo billed annually, or $599/mo billed monthly (40 keywords, 50,000 mentions, real-time refresh). Mentions over quota cost $0.013 each on Pro and $0.01 on Scale unless you turn that off or set a spend cap. Extra keywords $10/mo on Pro, $5/mo on Scale. 7-day free trial.

    Strengths

    • Scores each mention high, medium or low for relevance and tags it (for example buy-intent), per its FAQ.
    • Its platform table lists Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn, GitHub and YouTube on Pro. Podcasts, newsletters, news and web start at Scale.
    • API, webhooks and an MCP server on every plan, plus Slack and email alerts.
    • A monthly spend cap for mentions beyond your plan.

    Trade-offs

    • Starts at $159/mo billed annually, well above the alert tools here.
    • Priced by keywords and mentions: Pro has 10 keywords, and mentions and keywords beyond the plan are billed.
    • Built for brand mentions: its pricing page lists no reply drafting or audience research.
  9. 9.Brand24

    Website

Best for: Agencies and brands that need broad social listening with sentiment and reports, where Reddit is one source among many.

Pricing: Listed Oct 2026: Individual $249/mo ($199/mo billed annually; 3 keywords, 2,000 mentions a month, updates every 12 hours). Team $349/mo ($299/mo annually; 7 keywords, 10,000 mentions, hourly updates). Pro $499/mo ($399/mo annually). Business $699/mo ($599/mo annually). Enterprise from $1,499/mo. 14-day free trial, no card.

    Strengths

    • Its plan table lists Reddit on every plan, alongside X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, news, blogs and more.
    • AI sentiment analysis and Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations are listed on every plan.
    • A 14-day trial that needs no card, per its FAQ.

    Trade-offs

    • The highest entry price on this list: $249/mo, or $199/mo billed annually.
    • Built for brand monitoring: its plan table lists no buyer-intent scoring or reply drafting, and plans count keywords (3 on Individual).
    • Individual updates every 12 hours and Team hourly. Its table lists real-time updates from Pro ($499/mo, or $399/mo billed annually), which matters if you want to reach a thread while it is fresh.

Which GummySearch alternative fits your job

GummySearch's homepage pitched it for ideating startups, validating demand, inspiring content and finding sales leads. Most tools here cover one or two of those jobs, so start with the one you actually used it for.

If you used GummySearch to...Look atWhy

GummySearch's own alternatives page also names BuzzAbout, Adlicio, IdeaFast, Postpone, RedReach and ReplyAgent. We did not review those six.

Reddit lead monitoring: alerts or ranked threads

Alert tools send you every match, and you decide what to do with each one. Subreddit Signals and FoxKnock add ranking and reply drafts.

If you sell B2B, the question is usually what happens after you find a thread. FoxKnock's community radar scores each thread, puts threads with a drafted reply in the daily Today queue beside your other buyer intent signals, and drafts a reply you post by hand.

Its entry plan costs more per month than F5Bot, KWatch.io, Syften or Subreddit Signals. If keyword alerts are all you need, a cheaper alert tool may be enough. If you are also weighing HeyCatch, see our HeyCatch alternatives.

Reddit audience research tool: what to use instead

FoxKnock does not map communities, show trends or write audience reports. For that job, use PainOnSocial (pain points from chosen subreddits) or SparkToro (web-wide audience reports with a Reddit section).

Neither is a copy of GummySearch, so compare their plan pages with the features you used. If you need both monitoring and research, plan on two tools.

GummySearch alternatives pricing: what each price counts

Monthly prices look alike, but each tool counts something different, so one number tells you little. The prices below are the entry paid plans each vendor listed on October 17, 2026.

ToolWhat the price countsEntry paid priceFree option or trial
F5BotKeywords and alerts a daySilver $9.99/moFree plan, personal use only
KWatch.ioKeyword alerts per platformEssential $19/moFree plan (2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News alerts)
PainOnSocialScans a month, subreddits per scanStarter $19/mo7-day trial

FoxKnockCredits per thread with a drafted replyStarter $49/moFree plan, 500 one-time credits (community radar is listed from Starter)
OctolensKeywords and mentions, overage billedPro $159/mo billed annually7-day trial
Brand24Keywords and mentions a monthIndividual $249/mo ($199 billed annually)14-day trial, no card

Plans that count keywords or filters (F5Bot, KWatch.io, Syften, Octolens, Brand24) are priced by how many terms you watch, then limited by daily result caps or monthly mention quotas. Octolens bills mentions over its quota. Brand24 says it never charges beyond your plan and will contact you about an upgrade. Plans that count brands or subreddits cap how many communities you watch. Plans that count scans or reports suit research you do now and then.

FoxKnock charges credits for the thread you act on. At default prices (they can change, so check the pricing page), a thread with a drafted reply costs 25 credits, or $0.25 at list price, and scanning and scoring use no credits.

Illustrative arithmetic, not a result: drafting replies for 40 threads in a month is 1,000 credits at default prices, about $10 at list price, out of Starter's 5,000 monthly credits if nothing else spends them. Neither pricing model is cheaper in general. It depends on how many threads you act on and how much of the reading you want to do yourself.

Before you switch from GummySearch

  • Export from GummySearch first. Its November 6 timeline says all user data is deleted on December 1, 2026, and its notices say free-tier users can still log in to view and download their data. Paying customers should check their account for export options now. We have not tested them.
  • Ask how the tool reaches Reddit. GummySearch's founder wrote that it could not get a commercial license for Reddit's Data API. Reddit's Responsible Builder Policy, updated October 5, 2026, says commercial use of Reddit data needs explicit written approval, and its rule against unapproved commercialization also mentions mining and scraping. We did not verify how each vendor here gets its Reddit data. Subreddit Signals says it scans Reddit through the official API. FoxKnock reads Reddit's public search without an API key, which Reddit can limit, and we are not saying Reddit has approved that access. No vendor here, FoxKnock included, can promise its Reddit access will last. A tool that also covers Hacker News or other sources, and lets you export your data, lowers the risk. Whether a given setup meets Reddit's terms is a legal question, and this is not legal advice.
  • Check what your plan includes. Every tool here offers a free plan or a trial, but sources, limits and card terms differ by plan. Subreddit Signals needs a card for its 14-day trial, while Syften and Brand24 say none is needed. Confirm the sources on the exact plan you buy.
  • Measure real volume. Run your phrases for a week on a trial before you pick a plan that counts keywords or mentions, and count the daily matches. F5Bot's free plan is labelled personal use only.
  • Plan for the reply, not just the alert. Reddit's platform rules ask you to abide by community rules and not spam, and some communities restrict self-promotion. Reddit's Responsible Builder Policy also says apps must not spam through automated posts, comments or direct messages. A tool can find the thread and draft text, but you decide what to post and whether it is allowed. FoxKnock never posts for you, and its suggested daily caps and disclosure notes are guidance, not Reddit policy.

Every vendor here can change its prices, limits and Reddit access, so recheck its page before you pay.

Try FoxKnock with the free credits

If you want ranked threads and reply drafts, create a free FoxKnock account. The Free plan has 500 one-time credits and needs no card. The credits arrive once you verify your email.

Free lets you try the playbook, discovery and company research. Community radar is listed from the Starter plan, so read the pricing page to see what each plan includes before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

When is GummySearch shutting down?

December 1, 2026, according to GummySearch's own November 6, 2025 timeline, which says the service shuts down and all user data is deleted that day. Its homepage already says it is closed as of 11/30/2025: sign-ups, purchases and renewals ended then. Paying customers keep access until their billing period ends, and lifetime-deal holders until November 30, 2026 per its later notice.

What is the best alternative to GummySearch?

It depends on the job you used it for. For keyword alerts, F5Bot, Syften or KWatch.io. For ranked buyer threads, Subreddit Signals or FoxKnock. For pain points, PainOnSocial. For audience reports, SparkToro. For brand listening, Brand24 or Octolens. No single tool here covers every job.

Is there a Reddit audience research tool like GummySearch?

Partly. PainOnSocial ranks pain points with quotes from chosen subreddits, and SparkToro builds web-wide audience reports with a Reddit section that lists subreddits. Compare their plan pages with the GummySearch features you used, because neither is a full copy.

What can I use for Reddit lead monitoring?

Subreddit Signals and FoxKnock both rank threads and help draft replies, while F5Bot, Syften and KWatch.io send keyword alerts and leave the rest to you. Subreddit Signals is built around Reddit. FoxKnock covers Reddit and Hacker News and never posts for you.

Is there a free GummySearch alternative?

Partly. F5Bot's free plan (labelled personal use only) gives 5 keywords with alerts up to 2 hours late. KWatch.io's free plan has 2 Reddit and 2 Hacker News alerts. SparkToro's free plan shows previews only. FoxKnock's Free plan has 500 one-time credits, but community radar is listed from Starter.

How much do GummySearch alternatives cost?

Entry paid plans listed in October 2026 run from $9.99 a month (F5Bot Silver) to $249 a month (Brand24 Individual, or $199 billed annually). GummySearch's own plans, when sold, were $29, $59 and $199 a month. Each tool counts something different, so compare the price table above with how you used GummySearch.

Is FoxKnock a GummySearch clone?

No. FoxKnock's community radar finds threads on Reddit and Hacker News where someone is asking for what you sell, scores them and drafts replies you post yourself. It does not map communities, show trends or write audience reports, so it fits B2B teams more than idea research.

Can Reddit tools stop working the way GummySearch did?

Yes, any tool that depends on Reddit data carries that risk. GummySearch's founder wrote that it could not get a commercial license for Reddit's Data API, and Reddit's policy says commercial use of its data needs explicit written approval. We have not checked how each vendor reaches Reddit. Prefer tools that also cover other sources. This is not legal advice.

Can I still export my GummySearch data?

Yes, if you still have an account. GummySearch's notices say free-tier users can log in to view and download their data, and its timeline says all user data is deleted on December 1, 2026. Paying customers should check their account for export options, which we have not tested.
